Key figures

Key figures

The overview page displays the key figures you have selected. See the section on "Select key figures," as well as overview graphs. The key figures give you a real-time status of your production, and the graphs provide an overview of the development of your production over time.

If registrations of insertions, deaths, slaughters, sold, and transferred pigs, feed consumption, and/or feed deliveries are updated weekly, the key figures and overview graphs will show you reliable estimates for the company’s productivity.

The key figures are calculated as an average for the entire company – that is, for all farms with associated barns and batches created under the company – divided by animal group. They reflect how productivity is performing right now. If a farm is deselected, it will affect the key figures for the relevant animal groups. Deselecting individual barns will not have an impact. The figures always reflect the current date.

The key figures are shown either for finisher pigs or for weaners. However, the key figure "Pigs in barn total" shows the total number of weaners, finisher pigs, and FRATS pigs for the company.

Number of pigs

The calculation of the number of pigs is based on the status set at the beginning of a period, plus insertions, minus deaths, transferred, sold, and slaughtered pigs.

Mortality

Mortality is calculated for a 13-week period for finisher pigs and an 8-week period for weaners, as the number of dead pigs during the period divided by the number of pigs produced in that period.

Slaughter data

The number of slaughtered pigs, slaughter weight, and meat percentage are calculated for a 13-week period, as an average of all the slaughtered pigs included in the period.

Daily weight gain

Daily weight gain is calculated for a 13-week period for finisher pigs and an 8-week period for weaners, as a weighted average based on the pigs that have left the farm during the period. In the key figure "Daily weight gain (finisher pigs)" only the pigs that have been slaughtered are included in the calculation. In the key figure "Daily weight gain (weaners)" sold and transferred pigs are included in the calculation.

It is also possible to select a reference for daily weight gain, which for finisher pigs is calculated from 30-115 kg, and for weaners from 7-30 kg.

Feed utilization

Feed utilization is calculated for a 13-week period for finisher pigs and an 8-week period for weaners, as the total feed consumption during the period divided by the total weight gain in that period.

It is also possible to select a reference for feed utilization, which for finisher pigs is calculated from 30-115 kg, and for weaners from 7-30 kg.

General

The dynamic key figures can only be calculated once a status has been set and registrations for insertions, deaths, slaughters, sold and transferred pigs, feed consumption, and/or feed deliveries have been made. See the Quickguide for more details.

The key figures related to mortality and feed utilization are calculated based on data from the last 13 weeks for finisher pigs and 8 weeks for weaners. This means that no key figures will be calculated until there is sufficient historical data.

The key figures related to slaughter and daily weight gain are only calculated once pigs have been slaughtered, sold, and/or transferred. Therefore, be aware that there may be periods when these key figures are not updated if no pigs have left the farm during that time.
